Cancer support volunteers needed at Kogarah and Miranda
Cancer Council NSW is seeking volunteers for the Practical Support Unit at Kogarah and Miranda.
There is a call-out for enthusiastic people to assist patients within information service at Southside Cancer Centre, Miranda, and at St George Hospital's Cancer Care Centre.
This program is designed to provide information, referrals and face-to-face emotional support to people affected by cancer at major cancer treatment centres.
While not providing counselling or medical advice, volunteers will discuss patients, carers and families’ situation and guide them to relevant information and services.
