A new swim school for young children is proposed in a two-storey building in the Caringbah industrial area.
The upstairs area would include a creche and a waiting-sitting room with views of the pool for parents and children.
A development application (DA) has been lodged for the proposed change of use of the building at 3A / 2 Resolution Drive.
Sutherland Shire Council planning staff will assess the proposed project, which is estimated to cost $188,430.
The DA said a metal framed, prefabricated pool would be installed for tuition by professional instructors of small, younger children's classes.
Ramps would be provided to the pool deck for children with a disability and their parents.
There would be a reception area and showers, toilets and change rooms.
The DA said the swim school would provide a qualified instructor for every four children.
