Residents are encouraged to give up their warm and cosy beds for one night to unite in a starry night sleep-out.
Georges River Life Care Centre Peakhurst is next month hosting Sleeping Rough 2019 - an annual evening when people gather in support of raising awareness of domestic violence.
The registered charity organisation, has provided crucial services to disadvantaged and at-risk individuals and families in the community for more than a decade.
On April 17, the fundraising event, which is in its fifth year, hopes to attract plenty of supporters who are willing to give up the comforts of home, while asking family and friends to sponsor them in raising money for vital services including counselling, emergency relief and food hampers.
"Our organisation is actively trying to create awareness and provide solutions in our area by playing a vital role in providing services that will assist victims and help ease the destruction that domestic violence causes to families in our community," pastor Glenn Power said.
"There are many ways we could use your support. Whether it be helping to create awareness for the event, coming along to dinner, addressing the participants on the night or even sleeping out with us."
Former police commissioner Andrew Scipione is a regular participant of the event.
"The scourge of domestic violence is potentially one of the biggest issues we face as a nation," he said. "We need to come together to overcome this problem. We all have a part to play in making this right."
The night kicks off with a three-course dinner at Club Rivers, Riverwood.
