Sutherland goalkeeper Anthony Bouzanis was taking the positives from his side's hard fought 1-0 defeat to Hakoah Sydney City East on Saturday night.
The Sharks hosted Hakoah at a wet Seymour Shaw Park in their first home game of the season and fell to a Jack Green strike six minutes into the second half - and an inspired performance from former Sutherland keeper Ryan Norval in the Hakoah goal.
Sutherland were left to rue a number of missed chances as they slumped to their first loss of the campaign.
"We knew it was going to be a battle. Hakoah never shy away from anyone," Bouzanis said.
"We did have a few chances, we didn't take them. But it's still early in the season and we keep going. We can't really be too upset about the loss. We keep moving forward and look forward to APIA next week."
Sutherland return to Miranda on Saturday night when they host APIA Leichhardt.
