Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations ended with a colour flourish at last week's Bayside Council meeting.
Members of the Australian Sydney Southern Chinese Cultural and Entertainment Centre attended the council meeting in traditional dress to receive a Certificate of Recognition from Bayside Council mayor, Bill Saravinovski in appreciation of their performances at the 2019 Lunar New Year Extravaganza.
He thanked the ASSCCEC for bringing their talented performers to Rockdale Town Hall to showcase their traditions and culture through song, dance and music.
A presentation was also made by the Kogarah MP Chris Minns to James Zhou in recognition in of his contribution in organising the 2019 Lunar New Year Celebrations at held in Rockdale Town Hall.
Bayside Council mayor Bill Saravinovski and the Bayside Councillors thanked Mr Zhou for organising the extravaganza showcasing traditional Chinese culture through dance, song and music as part of the Lunar New Year to welcome in the Year of the Pig.
