A Meet the Candidates forum for the Rockdale electorate will be held at Rockdale Senior Citizens Centre tomorrow at 6.30pm.
The forum has been organised by Keep Sydney Open candidate George Tulloch and will include Hussein Faraj (Independent) and Peter Strong (Greens).
"Unfortunately Paul Collaros (Animal Justice Party), Steve Kamper (Labor) and Sam Hassan (Liberal) are unable to attend due to prior commitments," George said.
"It's vitally important we have a Meet the Candidates event," he said.
"At the moment people can only hope to catch the candidates at one of their own organised events.
"It is important that people can come to hear the views and policies of the candidates and weight them up and ask questions in a public forum.
"And it is important for the candidates to engage and listen to voters."
A spokesman for Rockdale MP Steve Kamper said, "We are trying to figure it out but Steve's been booked in for months for the last week of the election every evening, doing radio, etc so will be hard."
George urged constituents for the electorate of Rockdale to come along and meet their candidates.
"This will be an open format town hall where you get to ask the big questions, no need to prepare, just come down and have a chat," he said.
Meet the Candidates will be held at the Rockdale Senior Citizens' Centre, 36 George Street, Rockdale, Wednesday starting at 6.30pm.
