An airshow featuring military and historic aircraft and classic warbirds will take to the sky on May 4 and 5.
Wings over Illawarra is set to continue growing this year with an even bigger list of displays both in the air and on the ground, a huge family carnival, motocross displays, food stalls galore and a wide array of static displays and market stalls to delight the crowds.
And it a welcome boost for the event, Viva Energy is returning in 2019 as a major supporter.
Mark Bright, of Bright Events, said Viva Energy will provide fuel for all the display aircraft wowing crowds.
He said partnerships with businesses such as Viva Energy were what allowed the iconic airshow to continue to grow and be successful.
"Viva Energy is one of Australia's leading energy companies supplying approximately a quarter of the country's liquid fuel requirements," Mr Bright said.
In 2017 Viva Energy purchased Shell's aviation business in Australia and in 2018 launched Viva Energy Aviation which now supplies the fuel for almost 1,200 flights each day across Australia".
Viva Energy aviation business manager Nick Adams said it was a thrill to be involved with Wings over Illawarra.
"We play a critical role in the aviation industry, making high quality aviation fuels used across the industry," Adams said.
"Being able to support spectacular events that bring so much joy to the community is something that we value highly".
