Grey day: A gloomy scene at Cronulla on Friday ahead of a possible thunderstorm. Picture: Chris Lane
You may have thought the end of the world was nearing on Friday when an eerie shadow cast across Cronulla.
The sun hid behind the gathering clouds for a brief moment, but long enough for Leader photographer Chris Lane to capture the dark scene as heavy cover started to form above the ocean.
It brings the chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon or early evening, and also late on Saturday.
Cooler change-of-season temperatures are yet to make a real mark, with some leftover summer sun to make a weekend return.
Saturday is predicted to reach to 28 degrees, and Sunday even warmer, with a top of 30 degrees.
