Re the ''Team work not Daley caused swing" (Leader, March 27).
Liberal candidate for Kogarah Scott Yung has a point. In light of the criticism being levelled at Michael Daley's comments about Asian's with PhD's taking over many of the (top) jobs, I would like to know if they are factual or the criticism is just obscene political correctness or sour grapes.
Even the best of intentions can be made to look insincere, or attacked for advantage.
Asians, in this instance, would be proud of their heritage and achievement, and the effort put into gaining the best jobs, which doesn't come easy.
It takes much personal sacrifice and a responsible mindset to obtain a PhD, and it is deserving that those with the best qualifications get the best and most responsible jobs, if not all of them, for the benefit of society.
Mr Daley was helpful for providing local insight and facts, and giving Asian people credit, so that more people can set their sights higher.
Only those with peculiar political sensitivities would consider Mr Daley's comments inflammatory, which I prefer to think were words of caution made in good faith.
