Sydney's Royal Easter Show opens on Friday.

Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to flock to the Sydney Royal Easter Show and patrons are being urged to take advantage of free public transport to get there.

Between this Friday and Tuesday April 23, it's estimated more than 850,000 people will pass through the gates at Sydney Olympic Park, a statement from the Transport Management Centre said on Monday.

Additional trains and buses will run each day and ShowLink tickets include entry to the show as well as travel to and from Sydney Olympic Park on all public transport services.

Express trains will run to Olympic Park from Central Station each day, with frequent services also running between Lidcombe and Olympic Park.

Major event bus services to Sydney Olympic Park will run daily from the Northern Beaches, Glebe, Maroubra, Castle Hill, Rouse Hill, Menai, Cronulla and Dural.

Ferries will be popular and may reach capacity on weekends, public holidays and nights, so the public is urged to have a backup travel plan.
