Clever Care NOW at Caringbah (formerly Nurses On Wheels at Bexley) is celebrating not only turning 60 years in 2019, but also welcomes a new service to its suite of programs.
From April this year, it acquired SmartCare a transitional nursing care service - transporting aged, frail and wheelchair bound clients to medical appointments, hospital visits and family events including weddings and funerals.
Over the 60 years in operation, Clever Care NOW has evolved from in-home nursing care to deliver services that meet the growing health, nursing and social needs of the region through community health checks, flu vaccination programs, children's literacy programs and day trips.
For the past 18 years, SmartCare has provided transitional nursing care.
Lyn Cecil, founder of Bangor based SmartCare, has handed over the long-established successful service to Clever Care NOW.
"My personal circumstances raising a physically challenged child and further my experience caring for a stroke victim and a quadriplegic, I saw a huge need for a professional nursing service," Ms Cecil said.
Clever Care NOW chief executive Jill Deering says it is a great privilege to continue Lyn's legacy and unique business that complements existing services.
"We commit to continuing the high standard of care and professionalism that Lyn and the SmartCare team have so passionately delivered to the community," she said.
"We are excited to continue to provide this much-needed service and is a further step in broadening our community wellbeing profile as we continue to offer a range of programs."
