Sutherland have ended their four-game losing streak after the 10-man Sharks battled to secure a 0-0 draw with Manly United.
The Sharks had captain Marc Warren sent off late on after they had had a number of opportunities.
Manly also had their chances, with Sutherland goalkeeper Anthony Bouzanis a stand out.
Sharks coach Terry Palapanis was left disappointed his side weren't able to win all three points.
"It wasn't our best in front of goal," he said.
"We've been working of course and we've had opportunities but we just can't seem to find the net. It was an even match and we kept a clean sheet so you look to the positives and with our FFA Cup game coming up in midweek we need to look forward."
Sutherland travel south for their FFA Cup fourth preliminary round clash with Gerringong Breakers on Tuesday night before they face a tricky away clash with Marconi on Saturday night.
