Re the article ''Petrol poured over greens: $20,000 in damage at Beverley Park golf course'' (Leader, April 17).
A decision is not expected next month. Beverley Park Golf Club were requested more information from Georges River Council to support their development application over 12 months ago and to date have failed to supply the required information.
When they eventually do provide the requested information the DA will go back on public exhibition for at least two weeks for the public to view and make further submissions.
The Independent Planner will then finalise their report and it will appear at the Local Planning Panel.
This is highly unlikely to be in May.

It's seems vandalism at Beverley Park Golf Course only occurs when the DA for the useless and not required fence is back on council agenda.
Ever since the community won legal grounds on the golf course boundary against the golf club late last year vandalism seemed to have ceased, but now the fence is back on the council agenda vandalism appears, again, like magic.
This should be investigated by the police, it's like clockwork.

I doubt a fence will keep out vandals just ask City Rail and they spend a lot more on security. A fence will however stop the local community from enjoying the open green space.
For more than 50 years I have played there, jogged and now walk my dogs. Local residents enjoying the course are a deterrent to anyone wanting to vandalise it.

The development application for a fence at Beverley Park Golf Course will be determined by the Georges River Local Planning Panel, not by the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal, as was incorrectly stated in the article.
