The Sutherland Shire Local Business Awards are back, and founder Steve Loe has called on the community to nominate their favourite local businesses.

Mr Loe, managing director of Precedent Productions, established the business awards more than three decades ago.

He said it was an opportunity for members of the community to encourage and show appreciation for outstanding providers of goods and services.

As members of the community, we reap the benefits of their efforts, which can make our own lives happier and easier in many ways," Mr Loe said.

Sometimes its as simple as a friendly smile and sympathetic ear from the staff in a shop that lifts your spirits when youre having a bad day. Or it may be a supplier who works tirelessly to ensure an urgent stock delivery reaches you on time.

Nominating someone for their outstanding service or products is a way to thank people who are the backbone of our community.

Nominating is as simple as filling in the coupon in-store or online at the Awards website - thebusinessawards.com.au.

Everyone who nominates a business will be in the running to win a GoPro Hero 7 Silver.

The Sutherland Shire Business Awards are made possible by the ongoing support of Major Sponsors, NOVA Employment and Support Sponsors, Sutherland Shire Council, Service NSW, Kareela Village, Sutherland Shire Environment Centre and BxNetworking.

Nominations for the 2019 Sutherland Shire Local Business Awards will close on Tuesday, June 4, with the winners announced at the awards presentation evening, on Wednesday, July 31.
