Club Central has supported 32 local sporting clubs across the Menai and Hurstville areas through its annual sporting grants program, handing out a total of $128,500 in cash sponsorships in 2019.
Club Central President, Brian Cloney said the financial support is an important way that Club Central helps encourage grassroots sports.
"Whether it's winter or summer sport, or both, that your family is part of, we're very proud to support local sporting clubs each year and enable families to get involved in team and individual sports," Mr Cloney said.
"Each sporting club is able to choose how they use the funds," he said.
"Some clubs use the sponsorships to offset registration costs for members, some put it towards equipment and training gear, others provide player development training programs, updating clubhouses and facilities or paying for presentations days and trophies.
"Whatever the case, we know that it is welcome funding for a very worthwhile cause," he said.
As well as the financial grants, Club Central is giving in-kind support to all sporting clubs in the form of room hire waivers for club meetings and functions.
In 2018 this amount was in excess of $45,000.
In addition, Club Central Hurstville is a major sponsor of the St George Cricket Club, based at Hurstville Oval.
"Sport is something that has the ability to bring us all together, and that's what we are all about at Club Central," Mr Cloney said.
