Police and SafeWork NSW are investigating after a man was crushed to death when the upper deck of a semi-trailer carrying cars collapsed at Kirrawee.
The accident occurred about 5am in Bath Road.
People from a nearby gym rushed to assist and paramedics rendered aid, but the injured man could not be saved.
The man was reportedly working on the hydraulic system of the semi-trailer when the upper deck suddenly gave way and fell on him.
It is the second work related fatality in Sydney in less than two months.
An apprentice, Christopher Cassaniti, 18, was crushed to death on April 1 when scaffolding collapsed on him and a co-worker at a construction site in Macquarie Park..
