After giving the sport away four years ago, Monterey resident, Bill Collaros will compete in the World Rimfire and Air Rifle Benchrest (WRABF) Championships held in South Africa later this year.
Collaros, who has competed in various competitions in rifle shooting in the past came out of retirement in 2017 in a quest to represent Team Australia at this event.
The World Championships which attracts more than 200 shooters from 30 countries will pit the world's best air and calibre rifle shooters against each other.
Asked on his thoughts on the Australian team's chances at the event, Collaros was confident of a good showing.
"I expect Australia to be up there dominating especially in the team events," he said.
"I also think we can get one or two medals in the individual events".
In preparation for the event, Collaros will be training hard and taking part in local competitions right up until he flies out for South Africa.
"I am training twice a week now and in the June/July period I will be competing in four competitions to prepare (for the event)".
