A new indoor swimming centre at Caringbah will open this weekend, four years after work started.
Swimmerz Academy, will start lessons on Saturday, May 18. An open day was held last weekend.
The centre provides learn-to-swim classes for adults, children and babies, private lessons, squad training, casual swimming, group bookings and birthday parties.
Swim school operators Tony and Paula Geha expected to open in January this year after work was completed on the pool, which was sold by receivers last year.
Ms Geha said the opening had to be put back because a new filtration system from the US was caught up in the trade war.
Bruce Abbott began building the pool in Wurrook Circuit, on the former Parke-Davis (Pfizer) pharmaceuticals site, as a new home for his business Taren Point Swim School, which had to move to allow expansion of the Caringbah Home centre.
Work came to a halt in August, 2017, when the projected cost of $1.8 million blew out to $3.3 million and further finance could not be obtained.
Businessman Spiro Geha purchased the property for $3.8 million in late 2018.
