There is no good news for St George Illawarra fans with the Dragons trailing 28-0 at half-time before being hammered 45-12 in Mudgee on Sunday afternoon.
Coach McGregor believes the heavy defeat may have been coming after the recent second-half collapses against Parramatta and the Warriors in the past two weeks.
"The same people are making the same errors and the poor reads are on a weekly basis so it might be time for change." he said after the game.
"Right now, we're halfway through the year so if we're still making the same errors, and giving away the same sort of penalties, the same people are doing it that means they're not listening."
McGregor's options at changing his losing team are limited but lock Korbin Sims would be available for the match against the Sharks after recovering from a broken arm.
Kalyn Ponga put in another brilliant performance in both defence and attack to steer the Knights to their emphatic victory over the Dragons in Mudgee and the star fullback got the 9267 fans at Glen Willows Stadium on their feet when he left Queensland team-mate Ben Hunt diving at the ground and beat three other defenders before breaking free of an attempted Matt Dufty tackle to score his first try.
Trailing 38-0,the Dragons were their own worst enemy but they finally gained some reprieve when ex Dragon Kurt Mann was sent to the sin bin for repeated infringements by the Newcastle players and Tariq Sims and Lomax scored during the 10 minutes he was off the field leaving the score with some respectability.
