After only six months in the region, paediatric speech pathologist Erin Criticos of Moving Mountains Therapy was surprised to win the Youth Award in the St George Local Business Awards.
"A few of our families had recommended we enter the awards but we were initially reluctant as we had not been servicing the area for very long and did not think we would stand a chance," Ms Criticos said. "However, with the ongoing support of our families and other professionals we work with, it proved to be worth it."

She said the awards night was a great event and it was encouraging to see the success of other small businesses within the area.
"I was able to appreciate how lucky I am to be part of such a great community," Ms Criticos said.
And although hers an individual award she wanted to thank the many people who made it possible.
"Firstly, our loyal families who come in each week, particularly those who have been with us from the very beginning," Ms Criticos said.
"Secondly, our incredible team who go above and beyond to support each other.
"And last, but by no means least, my incredible sister, Marie Criticos.
"She founded the speech therapy business only two years ago and has continually supported me."
And would she be back at the awards next year?
"Absolutely! We were able to connect with so many other local businesses," Ms Criticos said.
"It's a great night and a chance to congratulate the hard work that is put in to running a small business."
