St George and Sutherland Community College has opened its doors to a new enterprise that aims to give people with disabilities an opportunity to shine in the retail space.
The Trove is the latest project for the college. It has been built based on experience of the college's clients who have been running weekly markets.
This next step is more up-market - to showcase the talents and abilities of people with a disability.
Clients build on their experience in money handling, merchandising and people skills with customers.
The idea is to also promote the use of recycled goods through donations, all which are either new or second-hand given by the community.
Sutherland mayor Carmelo Pesce was at the launch of the shop on May 15, joined by college chief executive Patricia Carroll.
