Illawong dancer Chelsea Marriott is reaching new heights in the early yet promising beginnings of her dance career.
The ballerina from Mortdale's Rogerson Elite Classical Training recently returned from the US, where she had private coaching from an impressive list of mentors.
They included the artistic director of the Joffrey Ballet School, the principal teacher of Ellison Ballet School, and Angel Spendlove (Wong), who has danced with Royal Ballet, English National, Hong Kong Ballet and National Ballet of Canada.
While stretching her talents in the east coast of America, Chelsea, 14, competed in the YAGP semi-finals, for which she has already received a scholarship for.
She also competed at the Universal Ballet competition, where she placed seventh - a true accomplishment for someone who has never competed on foreign soil in competitions of that calibre.
Chelsea began ballet at age four, starting with jazz. She has already attended the reknown Bolshoi Ballet Summer School in Moscow and had the opportunity to attend Royal Ballet School Spring and Summer programs.
She most recently accepted a position in American Ballet Theatre's Summer program, and will then travel to Europe to attend the summer program at Accademme De Princess Grace.
