Were you one of the boys in the year 12 class of 1969 at St Patrick's College Sutherland?
There is a reunion being organised for the former students who will gather as Tradies on July 20 to celebrate 50 years since completing the HSC.
That year was the second year under the Wyndham revision of the education scheme and they faced six long high school years, and exams with no past papers on hand for practice.
The practice of their religion changed as they sang folk songs instead of Latin hymns at mass, which was said in English for the first time.
They were sportsmen, excelling at rugby league and cricket, and enjoyed endless summers along Sutherland Shire's coastline. The boys were also the inaugural members of the college band, which has since flourished.
The upcoming reunion hopes to bring the 'sons of the Shire' back home from across the globe.
