Georges River Council's draft Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS 2040) will go on public exhibition from June 26.
The LSPS has been developed following input from the community during a number of workshops held in March.
Georges River Council mayor Kevin Greene said he was pleased with the high level of involvement from the community.
"The comments and ideas provided by them which have helped inform the development of the LSPS 2040," Cr Greene said.
"Responses from people who attended the workshops indicated a very clear desire from our community for a greener city, the retention of the village feel at our smaller centres, retaining employment and industrial land to protect local jobs and improving transport options," he said.
"The State Government required all councils to prepare an LSPS, which is a planning document that guides how local land will be used into the future.
"We want people to read the draft document, which will be on public exhibition for 42 days from 26 June to 7 August 2019, and takes into consideration the winter school holidays.
"This will allow more time for people to respond than the required 28 days, as Council is committed to providing as much opportunity as possible for public feedback.
"In order to encourage feedback from the community, and following the high level of engagement shown by the community in relation to the LSPS to date, Council will be holding five more two-hour workshops," Cr Greene said.
"Additionally, there will be five drop-in events for those who don't have two hours to spare but would still like to provide feedback.
"Within the draft LSPS 2040, are a series of maps which explain where new housing development and new transport options are likely to be located.
"Workshops and drop-ins are located throughout the local government area, at various times to enable esidents to get to one that suits them
.
"People can come anytime to the drop-ins and stay as little or as long as they like - it's not too late to have your say," he said.
The draft LSPS is already available on Your Say Georges River, where people can also register for a workshop or drop-in event.
