Bayside Councillors have voted themselves a 2.5 per cent rise in fees at last week's council meeting.
The fee rise is in keeping with the recommendation handed down by the Local Government Remuneration Tribunal for the 2019-2020 financial year.
A report recommended the councillors adopt the maximum annual fee available for a Metropolitan Medium Council.
The additional fee for the Mayor for 2019-2020 will also be set at the maximum for a Metropolitan Medium council.
Councils classified as Metropolitan Medium have a minimum population of 100,000 and total operating revenue exceeding $100 million.
The Tribunal determined that fees for mayor and councillors should be increased by 2.5 per cent, consistent with the NSW Government's Wages Policy.
Based on the recommendation, the councillor annual fee would increase from $25,160 To $25,790. The mayor's fee would increase from $66,860 to $68,530.
