Paragliders and hang gliders were out in force at Bald Hill, Stanwell Park, on the Friday before the Queen's Birthday long weekend.
Travel blogger Greg Tannos, of Alfords Point, posted a video on his website, findmyaustralia.com
Mr Tannos said enthusiasts told him the wind conditions were perfect.
The nature reserve on the top of the hill has a reputation throughout Australia and overseas as a major hang gliding and paragliding site.
The regular landing area is on on the beach near the lagoon, marked out with cones.
However, the sport is not without risks.
In April this year, a paraglider died at Bald Hill when, after a successful takeoff, he was blown back into the cliff face before falling around 50 metres to the ground.
Australia pioneer of flight Lawrence Hargrave invented the box kite and experimented with linking them together at Stanwell Park in the 1890s.
On November 12, 1894, Hargrave was lifted nearly 4.8 metres into the air under a train of four box kites that he had created.
Hargrave's experiments were credited with playing a significant part in the creation of the airplane.
A memorial to the pioneer was erected on Bald Hill in 1940.
