The final round of the 2019 Sharkskin NSW IRB Premiership to be held at Caves Beach SLSC this weekend will determine the winning premiership surf club, ahead of the NSW State Championships at Cape Hawke June 29-30.
North Cronulla SLSC is currently sitting in fourth place after the third round which was held at One Mile Beach,one spot off the medals, at the end of the four-event rounds, the club with the top points will be awarded the title of NSW Premiers.
Kiama Downs SLSC continued to dominate with 10 finals wins from 23 races last weekend. After this round the South Coast club continue to lead the premiership point score with three-from-three event wins going into the final round at Caves Beach on 15-16 June.
The team has gone from strength-to-strength this season as they continue to power through all divisions; male, female and mixed, holding final round host club Caves Beach SLSC at bay.
North Cronulla's young team has been the surprise package this year pushing for the top three in every round and just needing to convert their minor placings into first 's.
Twenty NSW clubs competed at One Mile Beach with North Cronulla winning the Open Mixed Relay and Open Male Rescue events.
Runner up in the u23 Mixed rescue Tube and Open Female Mass Rescue kept them in touch with the leaders but their two third places in the Open Female Surf and 45+ Mixed Team Rescue left them just off the dias and three points behind third placed Terrigal leading into this weekend's final round.
