Georges River Council is co-hosting a free Refugee Week 2019 Community Dinner event, to help raise awareness of the experiences of refugees and asylum seekers and create a welcoming environment.
To be held on Thursday, June 20, the dinner will provide a format for people to share and listen to stories that showcase the resilience and courage of refugees and asylum seekers, and to spark fresh ideas about how best to support them in the Georges River community and beyond.
Held in partnership with Advance Diversity Services, Settlement Services International, and the Refugee Council of Australia, the dinner will encourage meaningful connections between community members.

The Refugee Council of Australia has provided free resources for Refugee Week 2019, including recipes from its Ambassadors, to help people 'Share a meal, share a story' to celebrate the lives of refugees.
