A session that aims to teach teens about the significance of healthy relationships between men and women is having rolling success across Sutherland Shire.
LoveBites, a program initiated by Sutherland Shire Family Services, had its most recent presence at Woolooware High School.
There to chat with students was Cronulla Sharks co-captain and program ambassador, Wade Graham.
The program was created by the National Association of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN).
It delivers trained facilitators who work in child protection, including police, counsellors and social workers, among others.
It is based on best-practice standards for education programs as recommended by the federal government funded Domestic and Family Violence Clearing House and other leading academics in the area of violence against women.
Sutherland Shire Family Services has offered the program to high schools in the Shire since 2011, training about 1200 students each year.
It also aims to introduce young people to existing support services within the community, and relies on community partnerships to offer the program to schools for free.
