Vivaldi's famous The Four Seasons will spring to life on Sunday, June 23, when four extraordinary young soloists join Sutherland Shire Symphony Orchestra's aptly titled winter concert, Young at Heart.
The program will not only feature violinists Antony Wang, Felix Chan, Graciah Guo, and Lauren Yao, ranging in age from 11 to 15 years, but will also feature emerging artist Jordy Meulenbroeks' performance of Mozart's beautiful Bassoon Concerto.
Other works to be performed include the full orchestra's rousing renditions of Berlioz's Hungarian March and Von Suppe's Light Cavalry Overture.
Principal Conductor and Musical Director, Dr Anthony Clarke, said that the program was sure to shake off the winter chill and would warm the hearts of audience members while giving them a rare chance to sample the musical talents of some very gifted young people.
"Young at Heart is a feeling we can all experience, and we will all be on that journey as we showcase the abilities of these dedicated young soloists," Dr Clarke said.
"The orchestra is very pleased to welcome our guests and looks forward to making an afternoon of beautiful music which I'm sure will be a great joyous but learning experience for us all."
Young at Heart will be performed at Sutherland Entertainment Centre. The concert starts at 2.30pm with a free pre-concert talk at 2pm.
