A Cronulla gym has been forced to find a new home after council refusal of its application to continue using its present space.
F45 Training opened in February this year at 71-73 Cronulla Street, above what is now the Sharks development display centre next to Nulla Nulla cafe.
Another gym, Cronulla Fitness, had previously leased the area for many years, but F45 Training began operating before receiving development consent from Sutherland Shire Council.
When an application was submitted, the council found impacts on the tenancy below and nearby business and homes were unacceptable and that fire safety requirements were not being met.
The council also found the gym would "exacerbate the demand for parking and affect the amenity of surrounding uses and the neighbourhood".
The business was asked to provide an acoustic report, plan of management and traffic and parking survey.
When the material was not provided, the council rejected the development application.
An F45 Training spokesman said, "We decided not to proceed".
"[The requirements] were all achievable, but we decided to look for another location and we have found something better on ground level further along Cronulla Street.
"We are waiting for the deal to be finalised."
