As a bushcare volunteer I use glyphosate and I would like to bring some balance to the discussion.
It is wrong to argue that 'risk' actually means 'certainty'. Sunlight itself is a risk factor for certain cancers so should Sutherland Shire Council's outdoor staff only work before 10am and after 3pm, which would only reduce the risk from sunlight, not eliminate it.
Consider petroleum fuels - petrol fumes are a well documented health risk so how risk free is a petrol whipper-snipper? Diesel exhaust has been long associated with poor health outcomes so must council adopt an all electric fleet to reduce the risk?
Let me add that pregnancy is a well understood health risk with many possible complications for the mother so should council avoid employing female staff in order to minimise that risk? Just like pregnancy glyphosate has its good sides too.
