A Caringbah South author and speech pathologist who turned to writing children's books has been nominated for an award for one of her best-sellers.

Sonia Bestulic, author of Reece Give Me Some Peace! is the founding director of Talking Heads Speech Pathology at Kogarah and Kirrawee.

Last year she released the book, and now it has been shortlisted in the category for 0-3 year olds for the Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Award.

The award promotes quality Australian children's literature and celebrates books that help children get the best, most literate start in life.

Last month the author also launched her second book, titled Kisses in Your Heart, which can be used as a tool to manage children's social-emotional skills and build resilience.
