At about 2.15pm on July 5, Sutherland Police Highway Patrol stopped a Red Honda Jazz that was detected travelling at 95km/h on Heathcote Road.
That section of Heathcote Road has a signposted speed limit of 70km/h.
The car was stopped and police spoke to the 39-year-old driver.
A roadside breath test returned a positive result.
His licence was suspended and he was issued an infringement notice for exceeding the speed limit by more than 20km/h.
He will appear in Sutherland Local Court on August 15.
