The famous Lugarno Lions Spring Festival is relocating this year to Peakhurst Park after holding the annual event for the past 39 years at Gannons Park.
Gannons Park is being upgraded witha new turf and irrigation system necessitating the move of the festival.
While the new venue means there will be no vintage car show or parking, the organisers said there will be added attractions included extra sideshow attractions and a bus shuttle service running to the festival.
It is the largest carnival in the southern side of Sydney outside of the Royal Easter Show, Lugarno Lions Spring Festival marketing manager Barry Wong said.
"Last year we estimate there were about 45,000 to 50,000 people attending. It is very hard to estimate. We usually get about 30,000 but last year was significantly up on previous years," Mr Wong said.
Because the new venue is close to Riverwood Station, the Lions hope more people will travel to the festival by train.
They will be running a shuttle service which will include a stop outside Club Rivers.
"The shuttle will stop at the bus stops for regular services operating in a loop and picking passengers up and dropping them off throughout the day."
Mr Wong said the Lions Spring Festival was the "largest free all-day event on the southern side of Sydney".
"Again, we will have about 200 stalls selling arts and craft, clothing plants and food," he said.
"There will be two stages of free all-day entertainment with headline act being The Cockroaches.
"Seven News return and ABC Radio may also be there.
"We will have new attractions including a synthetic ice skating rink and about 25 carnival rides.
"And there will be camel and pony rides which are very popular.
"In one of the attractions we will have on the day, parents will be able to take photos of their children with a superhero backdrop for a gold coin donation.
"We will be having a photo competitions for the whole festival with pictures of the carnival, animals or crowds enjoying themselves. People will be able to post them on the Lions social media site and to enter them into a draw for a prize.
"And we are looking at holding a treasure hunt."
The Lugarno Lions Spring Festival will be held on Sunday, September 15 from 9am to 4pm.
