A bushwalker suspected missing in the Heathcote National Park has been located safe and well in Kensington this afternoon.
The woman, a 25 year old Chinese student, Muzi Li went missing about 6.30pm last night after phoning 000 to say she was lost in the National Park.
A search operation was launched involving Sutherland Shire Police, Police Rescue, the Dog Unit, PolAir, State Emergency Services (SES) and the Menai Rural Fire Service.
A command post was established at Heathcote Rural Fire Station and up to 80 people were involved in the search which was suspended around 2.30am and resumed at 8am
As part of inquiries, officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command - assisting Sutherland Shire police - attended a home on Doncaster Avenue about 1.30pm today where the woman was located. It is believed she had spent the night lost in the National Park and was able to make her way home in the morning..
