A council investigation of pedestrian safety at the roundabout near Coles in Sutherland is to be carried out.
Sutherland Shire Council, at this week's meeting, endorsed plans drawn up by staff for new pedestrian crossings and an additional path on the north-west side of the train station.

The work is scheduled to be carried out in the second half of 2019-20.
The council also supported an amendment, moved by Cr Diedree Steinwall, for an additional investigation of safety at the intersection of President Avenue and Rawson Avenue (Old Princes Highway).
Cr Steinwall said she had witnessed and had also received reports from others of numerous incidents of pedestrians being endangered crossing in that area.
"It is very difficult to cross there," she said.
"There is a pedestrian refuge on President Avenue, but it is very narrow and not very safe.
"One of the shopkeepers in the area contacted me and said, 'I am looking at near-misses every day'."
Cr Steinwall said pedestrian safety had become a bigger problem in the Sutherland CBD since the state government upgraded access to the station and changed traffic movements about five years ago.
"We really need to investigate the whole area around the station and Transport for NSW should be providing funding," she said.
"At the moment, we just seem to be plugging gaps."
