Re: Leader articles on the Woolooware Bay Boardwalk (March 6, 2014 and March 28, 2015).
Local school groups, community organisations and users for recreation were appalled at the state of the then pristine Woolooware Bay wetland lookout (pictured).
At the time assurances were given as to the restoration of this landmark.
A Bluescope spokesperson assured those who initially raised concerns as to the impact of the so-called development that "restoration had been part of the company's intent to upgrade the boardwalk".
Similarly it was reported that "should council agree to what we are proposing Bluestone will assume responsibility to rebuild and work with all relevant authorities" - while not part of conditional approval.
Nevertheless the integrity of those responsible for such claims remains in question - as five years of inaction demonstrates (see recently taken picture left).
The price of multiple 'ghettos' plaguing the shire deserves honesty in development applications and restorative action not inane platitudes for the face of community concerns.
