RE the article ''$29.6 million centre upgrade: Sutherland Shire's 'new civic heart' gets funding approval''for Sutherland Entertainment Centre upgrade'' (Leader, July 10).
Thank you for your comprehensive coverage of planning details for the refurbishment of the Sutherland Entertainment Centre.
It is exciting to know that our community theatre groups will have a state of the art venue to present a range of contemporary and traditional musicals.
With a fully functional theatre complex complete with fly tower, loading docks and backstage facilities, we will continue to offer first rate shows for the community.
The lift to the dress circle will mean greater access for our older patrons and refurbishment of the front of house areas will enhance the patrons overall experience.
We look forward to seeing the completion of this project, and performing in the new and improved Entertainment Centre

I would just like to say how exciting this is for the performing arts community. With more than 45 dance schools in the Sutherland Shire alone, along with so many primary and high schools that also use this building, this will really build an inclusive environment for all.
It is going to make Sutherland area a beautiful area and environment to look at and be a part of.
At the moment it is really difficult for disabled people to attend this venue and with no access for wheelchair students to even access the stage it has made it quite difficult for those people to be involved in activities.
We are really looking forward to performing here along with so mammy students that perform in dance concerts, competitions, music festival etc. This is a big step forward for the performing arts and Sutherland shire community.
