The girls from Caringbah North Public School are heading to Queensland next week - and are in the running to come home with a national title.
Caringbah North's schoolaerobics team will make history, becoming the first school from the Sutherland Shire to compete in the Schoolaerobics National Championships.
The titles will be held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre from August 15 to 18.
The Caringbah North girls advanced through the regional qualifiers to finish second in their division at the state finals at Chatswood in June.
The CNPS Starbursts worked tirelessly to refine their routine, with their runner-up finish at the state titles enough to earn them a place at the national championships.
Coached by Rachel Cepeda and Katrina Rushby at Caringbah North, the Starbursts are an eight-girl team made up of Koby O'Brien, Bronte Snoxall, Taya Seldon, Ruby Street, Keira Aston, Elly Tyldsley, Bridget Rommel and Ivy Te Hira.
Schoolaerobics is the largest inter-school sportaerobic competition for primary and secondary school students in Australia.
The aim is to provide primary and secondary school students with an avenue to improve their fitness, confidence, health and self esteem through participation in a healthy and fun competition.
As well as schoolaerobics, the Gold Coast event will feature the national titles for 100% Cheer, Dancestar and Glee! categories over the four days of competition.
