An outdoor dining and play area adjacent to the car park is included in modified plans for a $33.3 million expansion of bulky goods retail centre, Caringbah Home.
The Koonya Circuit pedestrian entry / access point has also been reconfigured and pedestrian access through to the main mall level increased.
A range of changes have been made to the previously approved development application, followed by proposed modifications, which were subsequently withdrawn and revised.
It had been intended to include a new "alfresco dining / terrace, looking out over Taren Point Road", but this feature appears to have been replaced by an outdoor dining and play area next to the car park on the eastern side.
Property owner Adventus received DA approval in late 2016 for the upgrade of what is Sutherland Shire's largest bulky goods retail centre, previously known as Caringbah Homemaker.
The centre includes stores such as Harvey Norman, Freedom, Fantastic Furniture and JB Hi-Fi.
An extra floor will be added and the centre will also expand outwards to the corner of Willarong Road and Koonya Circuit.
A Sutherland Shire Council assessment supports the proposed changes.
Sydney South Planning Panel is due to make a decision at a meeting on August 21.
