Sutherland have announced that head coach and technical director Terry Palapanis has left the club.
The Sharks announced in a statement from the club's committee that Palapanis, who had been offered a new deal with Sutherland, had decided to move on.
Palapanis had led Sutherland to eighth place in the NPL 1 competition this season, four points outside the finals places, after replacing Grant Lee as Sharks coach.
"The club will announce its next moves for the current vacant head coaching position in due course as we continue to build on what was a great season overall, having finished fourth on the combined Club Championship tally as well as seeing a number of our players represent both the NSW state and of course the youth national team set-ups," the statement read.
"[Sutherland Sharks] is a club that prides itself in developing and nurturing players and understands the importance of recruiting the right person to fit the description in ensuring this continues on with tradition."
Meanwhile, Sutherland went down to Rockdale City on penalties in their NPL 1 under-20s qualifying final on Saturday.
The sides played out a 1-1 draw after goals to Alexander Malfara and Matthew Taverniti cancelled each other out.
Suns goalkeeper Jacob Botic saved three Sharks spot kicks to see Rockdale advance 3-1 on penalties.
The Suns now take on Blacktown City on Tuesday night, with the winner to advance straight to the grand final.
Sutherland host Sydney FC at Seymour Shaw Park, also on Tuesday night, in an elimination semi-final. The winner will advance to Sunday's preliminary final.
Sutherland are chasing their third under-20s premiership in a row having won the 2017 and 2018 titles.
