More nursing staff needed
Re the article "Assistant in nursing gets a ban for life" (Leader, August 14) for allegedly fondling patients. Maybe St George Hospital will put on more full-time staff instead of relying on agencies.

No word on detainees
I refer to Maree Miller's letter concerning David Coleman, MP for Banks, who often takes up local as well as federal issues (Your View, August 14). I valued Mr Coleman's opposition to the Georges River Council plan to jam a five storey building onto the Oatley Bowling Club site, though his stance may have been at odds with many Liberal Party members and supporters. That said, I wrote to Mr Coleman over two weeks ago about the plight of 17 Australian citizens detained in Chinese concentration camps, so I trust he will afford this problem the extreme urgency it deserves.

Boat owners have rights
Re "Zero cases of impounding" (Leader, August 7). As much as I understand and identify with concerns from my neighbors related to unregistered and dangerously parked boat trailers, the owners of legally parked trailers also have rights. Boat owners are required to pay annual registration for both trailer and boat and boat licence. This is not a small contribution to local economy and not all boat owners have the option to park in their yard including myself as I live in an apartment. The dry docks development in Tarren Point is not really a solution - when you expect to pay about $500 per month.
