Steve Smith is likely to be fit for the fourth Ashes Test despite missing out on the third installment of the series at Headingley, starting tonight.
Smith was ruled out of the third Test in Leeds after being diagnosed with delayed concussion following being struck by a bouncer on day four of the second Test at Lord's.
The Sutherland batsman was hit in the side of the neck having already been struck on the arm during a vicious spell of fast bowling from England quick Jofra Archer.
Smith left the field before returning to continue his innings. He was dismissed for 92 before being part of the first concussion substitution in the history of Test cricket when he was replaced by Marnus Labuschagne for the final day's play.
Labuschagne also replaced Smith for the third Test after the former Australia captain was ruled out on Wednesday.
Smith is likely to be passed fit to play in the fourth Test at Old Trafford in Manchester, which starts on September 4.
