Tasty Mexican food made in the traditional way is the promise when you dine at at Guzman Y Gomez in Kirrawee.
Owner Don Mizzi said they served fresh and authentic Mexican food, including their "famous" burritos and burrito bowls, as well as their special non-preservative GYG fries and "delicious proteins" such as barramundi, chicken, pulled pork, beef brisket and ground beef.
"We opened in November 2018 so we are coming up to our first birthday," Mr Mizzi said.
"We already had a restaurant in Cronulla and we saw this as a great opportunity to expand in the Shire region."
Mr Mizzi said a visit to Guzman Y Gomez promised tasty food and great customer service in a unique shop fit-out featuring custom Mexican street art.
"Our food is completely clean as we continue our journey to re-invent fast food," he said. "Who said fast food has to be bad food?
"We care about animal welfare and serve 100 per cent free range chicken."
Mr Mizzi said the friendly crew greeted every customer with a smile so you can "feel the energy, passion and joy" they have to share.
"We thrive on authenticity," he said. "If you can't be real to yourself, who can you be real to?
"We're serious about staying true to the old-school Mexican recipes and cooking techniques and prepare everything in the traditional way.
"We get our tomatillos, for example, from Southern California and the majority of our chillies from Northern Mexico. We even use the ancient Aztec process of nixtamalization - that is where corn or grain is soaked and cooked in lime water - to make our soft shell taco tortillas."
Mr Mizzi said the restaurant was happy to cater for people with dietary restrictions and offered gluten-free options.

He was delighted to let diners know that Guzman Y Gomez have recently added a breakfast burrito to the menu.
"I can honestly say it's my new favourite," Mr Mizzi said. "You can't go wrong with a burrito filled with fresh guacamole, bacon and scrambled eggs.
"And now you can even add chicken chorizo and a barista made coffee to complete your meal.
"Guzman Y Gomez are showing the fast food industry that it's possible to serve fresh made to order nutritious food without compromising on speed."
