The St George District Netball Association will run a volunteer-based netball program for adults with an intellectual disability starting next month.
The association received an Inclusive Communities Grant from Netball NSW to fund the program which will run across a 10-week period from October 1 to December 3.
The program is an opportunity for the association to reach out to people in the community who may not previously had access to netball.
The association has secured physiotherapists, exercise physiologists and occupational therapists as well as their representative coaches and members to assist running the program, with the emphasis on maintaining an active lifestyle.
The one-hour sessions will focus on modified skills and drills along with some game play, with interested participants encouraged to contact the association.
