When Tara and David Howes first discussed the idea of becoming foster carers, the idea fizzled, but then something told the Como couple to give it a try.
Since they became temporary carers, the family of five has given seven babies a bright future.
"We didn't know what we were going to be in for. A whole lot more love later, and this is where we are at. You just love them all. It's a beautiful experience," Mrs Howes, 34, said.
"People say all the time, they're so lucky to have you. We're actually really lucky to have them because they just give us so much.
"Our children also really love fostering. They really respond well to having them in our family and they kind of just love them like one of their own."
"A lot of these little babies you just see their real strong spirit, they start fighting from day one and we just wonder where they'll end up because we see such strong characteristics in them when we do let them go and we feel we build them up a bit," Mr Howes, 45, said.
"We've found that all three of our children have absolutely bonded so quickly with each and every one of the kids that we've fostered. We feel they have brought so much to our home."
They are encouraging more compassionate people to consider becoming foster carers to mark Foster Care Week (September 8-14).
Barnardos is urgently seeking more foster carers in St George and Sutherland Shire. It provides training, allowance and 24 hour support.
