'Doing Business with Council and Government' is the theme of the 2019 St George Business Breakfast to be held on Wednesday, September 18 at Club Central Hurstville.
Georges River Council in partnership with the St George Local Business Chamber is hosting the breakfast which will highlight government programs and initiatives that are designed to help businesses grow in the Georges River area and boost the local economy.
Georges River Council Mayor Kevin Greene said the breakfast will be a fantastic opportunity for local business owners to network with other businesses and hear about current Council projects relevant to the business community.
"Council recognises that the success of local business is integral to the success of our local centres," Councillor Greene said.
"Our ability to work closely with local business is central to the success of Hurstville and Kogarah, which have been identified by the NSW Government as strategic centres that will be increasingly significant to the economy of greater Sydney in the future.
"Council is currently planning for the future of our local economy through the development of a Kogarah Investment Attraction Strategy and Hurstville Place Making Strategy, which set out a vision for these centres and the Georges River area as a whole.
"I would encourage local business owners to attend this event, and discover how Council's strategic position in the community can be used to help their businesses identify opportunities for growth and prosperity," Cr Greene said
The breakfast is being held following Business Chamber launch of its Buy Local campaign, which aims to encourage residents and businesses to boost the local economy by prioritising purchases of goods and services from the local area.
The speakers at the breakfast will include St George Business Chamber President, Allan Zreik, Mayor of Georges River Council, Kevin Greene, St George Business Chamber Vice President, Tony Baddour and General Manager of Georges River Council, Gail Connolly.
