A new property project in St George which is being marketed as a ''revitalisation of Kogarah'' will be launched on Saturday.
The $175 million Kogarah Central development consists of 234 apartments across two 11-storey buildings at 71-97 Regent Street.
Excavation of the site is now underway with construction to start in October. Kogarah Central is scheduled for completion in late 2021.
The project will include a mix of studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments and has more than 100 apartments priced below $650,000 which are stamp duty exempt for first home purchasers.
It will also have five penthouses and a collection of two storey 'townhomes' with apartments starting from $460,000.
The buildings will have rooftop sky gardens overlooking Botany Bay and the CBD skyline.
The site is next door to the Kogarah Public Primary School and a short walk from Kogarah High School.
Sales Director at St Trinity Property Group, Will Wehbe, said the development's position offered high lifestyle convenience in a popular Sydney south pocket which was in the midst of transition with the Kogarah railway and town centre earmarked for revitalisation.
Mr Wehbe said the project would capitalise on Georges River Council's revitalisation strategies including its 'Business First' strategy which is designed to boost the night-time economy of the local government area.
''The addition of the F6 extension from the West Connex (the new M5) to President Avenue in Kogarah is also likely to have a positive impact on property values in the area, reducing travel time to the CBD,'' he said.
Eddy Haddad of builders Level 33 said Kogarah Central's twin 11-storey buildings will transform the streetscape replacing the 50's weatherboards which currently line Regent Street.
''Our vision is to deliver a new residential community of the highest design standards to contribute to the revitalisation of Kogarah,'' Mr Haddad said.
''We are offering first or second home buyers a spectacular selection of new homes, with all the modern conveniences of apartment living where residents will be able to enjoy the lifestyle benefits of living in close to absolutely every amenity and lifestyle.''
Level 33 has a number of other developments in the region in the pipeline including projects in Blakehurst, Wolli Creek and Miranda.
The launch of Kogarah Central will take place Saturday, September 21, from 10am at the display suite at 696 Princes Hwy, Kogarah.
