Barry Bent has again been chosen as a finalist for the Golf NSW Service to Golf Award.
The award will be presented as part of the 2019 NSW Golf Industry Awards at Curzon Hall, Marsfield on October 21.
Long-time Woolooware Golf Club professional Bent is up against Ian Weily from small, country golf club The Rock, Wyong Golf Club's Ian Spielvogel and Josh Rindfleish from The Australian Golf Club.
During his time teaching, Bent has coached players and developed students to reach the US and Australian PGA tours, the Ladies PGA and Australian and NSW representative teams.
Bent was also nominated for the award last year by two of his star pupils, shire golfing sisters Charlotte and Sophia Perkins, but missed out to Denis Dale from Twin Creeks Golf Club.
Bent, 74, has been involved with golf for more than 60 years.
General Manager of Golf at Golf NSW Graeme Phillipson said the finalists were all selfless contributors to the sport.
"Golf is richer for the contributions of many individuals across our great state. These four are examples of the importance of giving to others to help our sport thrive," he said.
